“Carrie has been fabulous to work with, especially around challenging schedules. We so appreciate her care and concern for our daughter. Our daughter has blossomed in her confidence as she has gained more functional movement of her tongue and speech.
Thanks so much Carrie!"
-Monique L. (daughter, 13yrs old)
“Walking into myotherapy I didn’t have many expectations besides prepping the mouth for a tongue and lip tie release for my 6 and 8 year old sons. I was blown away that within two months of regular mouth exercises my sons were sleeping through the night and were able to finally get into a deep sleep. We had maybe had two nights up until this point where they had both slept through the night. My 6 year old was able to fully
stop using night diapers and my 8 year old has stopped having accidents at night, which were quite frequent. Carrie is so patient and accommodating, cheering your family on the whole way. I could not imagine walking through this process with anyone else. Thank you Central Washington Myofunctional
Therapy for improving our quality of life in unthinkable ways.”
-Shyann C. (boys 6 and 8 yrs old)
“I want to sincerely thank you for all the support and guidance you’ve provided to my two boys over the last year. When we first started, my family knew very little about myofunctional therapy or tongue tie surgery, but thanks to your expertise, we now feel confident and well-informed throughout the entire process. Your in-depth knowledge of the subject, coupled with your personal experience, gave us a unique perspective that was invaluable. Not only did you provide exceptional therapy
for my boys, but you also helped us navigate the overwhelming task of finding the right doctors for the surgery. Your willingness to assist every step of the way made all the difference. I would highly recommend your services to anyone looking for myofunctional therapy or
needing guidance on tongue tie surgery. We’re so grateful for everything you’ve done to improve our family’s health and understanding.”
-Amanda G. (boys 14 and 11yrs old)
“Working with Carrie this past year has been amazing! She was so sweet, fun and excited to see my results along with me. Carrie was amazing at always tailoring my Myo experience to be personalized for my needs as well as realistic to my everyday life. I still catch myself performing my passive exercises when going about my day… months later! Overall, I can’t recommend CWMFT enough!”

What is
Myofunctional
Therapy?
ABOUT
Myofunctional therapy is an exercise-based therapy used to treat disorders of the face, neck, head, and mouth in children and adults.
These disorders are called orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs). Think of myofunctional therapy as physical therapy for your mouth and face muscles – it’s similar to taking your face to the gym
Orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs) are disorders that negatively affect the growth and development of the muscles and bones of the face and mouth. As a result, OMDs can interfere with proper function of the muscles of the face and mouth that are used for necessary functions such as eating, talking, and breathing. Myofunctional therapy addresses a range of OMDs by strengthening and retraining the face, mouth and throat muscles. Our muscle memory will allow our teeth and jaws to align properly as we grow and develop.
Signs & Symptoms of OMD:
Tongue-tie, sleep apnea, snoring, crowded teeth, chronic headaches, TMD & digestive issues just to name a few...
If you have one or more of these signs and symptoms of orofacial myofunctional disorders, then myofunctional therapy can help you.
Myofunctional Disorders can start before or after birth at any age and can impact impact your life more and more as you age. The earlier the intervention, the more effective the treatment.

Bio
Hello! My name is Carrie Nunnally, I am a Registered Dental Hygienist and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist with over 23 years in systemic health and oral health experience. I graduated from Shoreline Dental Hygiene in Seattle in 2001. My husband and I moved to Leavenworth WA in 2011. We have loved raising our two kids, who are the highlight of our life, in the Wenatchee Valley area where we enjoy all the outdoor activities our beautiful valley has to offer! I work in both family and pediatric dental practices which has given me the love of working with people ages 0-102 and every age in between! I love educating people of all ages on ways to improve not only their oral health but helping them to connect the dots on improving their overall health as well. I have always had a passion for preventative and functional health which is what lead me to discovering my own (and my families) myofunctional impairments and how best to improve them. I dove into continuing my education to the expanded function of Myofunctional Therapy and starting my own journey and practice. I completed the MyoMentor extensive training under Sarah Hornsby and continue to expand my knowledge with other courses and certifications to better treat a vast array of Oral Myofunctional Dysfunctions (OMDs). My goal is to always provide the highest quality care to support and help people take charge of their health and live life as the healthiest and best version of themselves!

How we work
APPROACH
I aim to make treatment as convenient as possible. It usually starts with a complimentary phone consultation to see if you will benefit from therapy. If so we schedule a comprehensive assessment to evaluate your condition(s). This generally takes anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes. Based on my findings, a therapy program is designed to meet your specific needs. Usually, a therapy program includes 10-12 therapy sessions. Generally, sessions occur every two weeks and progressively longer time in between sessions towards the end of treatment. Sessions generally take 40 - 45 minutes, plus easy home exercises that will take around 5-10 minutes per day.
Compliance and commitment to treatment is the key to success!
